STEP Country Dance Co. was founded on the belief that country swing & line dance should be accessible to all, and the process should be easy & fun!
For years founders Mike & Rich went out to country swing dance and saw dozens of people who were watching on the sidelines.
They pulled shy observers onto the floor, taught the basics, and watched dancers’ faces light up as they went from clueless to confident.
Now, STEP hosts classes for beginners, intermediates, and professionals alike in a fun, welcoming environment, unlike the intimidating dance class scene that’s often heard of.

Mike is a 10-year seasoned western dance instructor and dancer & a co-founder of STEP Country Dance Co. Over the past decade, he’s trained in Southern California and Nashville. In this time, Mike has accumulated over 5,000 on-floor dancing hours in some of the top studios & dance halls in the country…
RICH
Rich, a co-founder of STEP Country Dance Co., has had a passion for spreading the art of Country Swing Dancing for over 14 years. He picked up an authentic Texas Style Two Step during his days as a Soldier in the US Army while stationed in Kansas and often visited dance halls throughout Texas & Kansas…

Hands down the best instructors for two step and line dancing in Nashville!
Rich is incredible at explaining each and every step and makes you feel super comfortable, even when you feel like you’re never going to get it down. I had lots of anxiety about trying to learn to two step and Rich was so patient, kind and encouraging and now I’m able to two step anywhere and not feel self conscious. My friends and I had the best time! Thank you for everything!

Rich and his team were incredible!
My boyfriend and I took the beginner boot camp, and we learned so much in such a short amount of time, without feeling overwhelmed. Rich and his assistants broke down each move step by step until we all understood the moves and felt comfortable doing them with music. They also gave us individualized feedback which was very helpful. They made the classes super fun and the two hours each week flew by! We plan to attend the intermediate boot camp as well!

These are some of the smartest instructors out there! they don't go too fast, they are very informative and execute all their corrections with confidence and knowledge. The owner is a veteran and is a very veteran friendly company, and the prices they charge are AMAZING for Nashville, you get way more value for your dollar here. I hate spending more than I need to, but I don't feel that here at all. If anything I'm getting more for than what I paid for. Amazing place for beginners and experienced that wanna go to the next step. This is a local company, and not a big chain for everyone who enjoys supporting local businesses and people!
